My name is Deborah Hanes, and as the licensed provider and administrator of Sunshine Gardens Adult Family Home, my goal is simple: to provide a safe, joyful, and highly skilled environment where your family member can truly thrive. My path to establishing Sunshine Gardens was built on a foundation of hands-on, dedicated care. With a professional background as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a Medication Technician, I have spent years working directly at the bedside and managing complex care needs. This experience gave me invaluable insight into both the clinical side of senior care and, more importantly, the human side.I chose to open Sunshine Gardens because I wanted to take everything I learned in larger care settings and bring it into a warm, intimate, six-bedroom home. In a small home, care isn't a checklist—it is personal. My training allows me to manage medications with absolute precision, recognize subtle changes in health early, and ensure daily routines are carried out safely, respectfully,  and with the utmost dignity. For me, this work is a calling. When you entrust your family member to Sunshine Gardens, you aren't just placing them in a facility. You are bringing them to a home where they are known by name, their unique preferences are honored, and they are treated like a member of my own family.
